"We installed these vents instead of installing a HVAC system in the strawbale house we built. We are off-grid and didn’t want to have an air exchange system that depended on electricity to function. We are very pleased with the effect of the vents both in summer and winter. The house itself is very airtight and the vents allow air movement from outside to in and outside again without an appreciable impact on the temperature inside the house. Nor do we experience cold drafts in the vent areas or the “airpaths” throughout the house. We installed one vent low in the wall beside the woodstove and this provides ample air to maintain the fire without depleting interior oxygen levels. In essence it is like having several windows barely open throughout the house, but without the cold drafts...."

"We are VERY satisfied with the vent system- we have an old house in a village, which we purchased 4 years ago, with the river right across the road. The house is about 170 years old. An old basement! The 2 existing small low windows are both blocked off with wood- ( one went for the gas pipe for the furnace, so the vent was cut into the wood on each side of the basement so as to promote an air flow. One thing we also did though was install a bathroom type ceiling fan into the one wooden side, opposite to the furnace area- that draws air out also in the summer to avoid dampness in the old basement- I would absolutely recommend it to others. Prior to having it the basement in summer smelled horrible and damp- really awful! My husband is very glad that he found you and your product as am I as I detested the smell of the basement and I have arthritis so dampness is a killer for me!!" ~ Misty S.
